Gonioscopy

Gonioscopy is a method of contact diagnosis in ophthalmology that allows an accurate examination of the anterior chamber of the eye.
Inspection is carried out using a gonioscope and slit lamp. The latter is a special microscope, which is built in the lighting device. A gonioscope is a system of mirrors installed in such a way that it is possible to inspect the structures of the eye that are not visible in the usual way.
Gonioscopy is indicated in the following conditions of the patient: glaucoma, injuries in the anterior chamber angle, cancer in the anterior chamber, congenital malformations of the anterior chamber.
