Pneumotonometry

Pneumotonometry - it's a non–contact method for the study of intraocular pressure (IOP) used in modern ophthalmology. IOP is measured with an air jet directed at the eye. This method doesn't require the use of any drugs or dyes. A jet of air, like a small gust of wind, a special machine sends strictly on the front surface of the open eye. It's totally painless. The only nuance that can cause psychological discomfort is the need for a rather strong approximation of the device to the eye. In response, many people begin to blink more often (normal protective reflex). For frequent blinking not to distort the measurement results, it is recommended to listen to a doctor or nurse.
