Paraffin ozokerite therapy

Paraffin-ozokerite applications - an effective method of thermotherapy using natural mineral of oil origin, which has anti-inflammatory, analgesic and anti-edema effect. This method has been used successfully for the treatment of arthritis, joint injuries, cholecystitis, a skin disorder, female and male reproductive organs..

Ozokeriteis a unique substance which is called mountain wax, it contains ceresin, paraffin, hydrogen sulphide compound, petroleum resins and mineral oils.

In the health resorts of Belarus is used in the form of applications. Typically, ozokerite and paraffin are hitted and this liquid poured into the cell, where it is slightly cooled and then placed in the thermostat.
Such a plate with a thickness of about 3 cm and a temperature about 60-70 degrees is placed on the ill place on the body, coverd and wrapped by blanket. The first procedure lasts about 15 minutes, and then the duration can be increased. The course of treatment is appointed by the physician and in the average is about 6-10 procedures.

Ozokerite and paraffin have a high heat capacity and minimum thermal conductivity. It slowly cools giving heat to the body, in addition it has mechanical and chemical effects. In the area of application the body temperature rises, the skin is slightly compressed due to the cooling. The heat penetrates even deeper into the tissue, the metabolism and activation of blood circulation increses, and biologically active substances through the skin get into the blood and spread throughout the body.

Due to its unique properties paraffin ozokerite applications are used in various fields of medicine. Most often it is used to treat diseases of the joints, ligaments, muscles, stomach ailments, skin diseases of male and female organs. Among the major indications for paraffin-ozokeritotherapy:

  • arthritis, osteoarthritis, neuritis, sciatica, injured joints and muscles;
  • cholecystitis, gastritis, colitis;
  • pneumonia, inflammatory diseases of the ear, nose and throat;
  • scars, sores and wounds;
  • gynecological diseases, including infertility.
